Dr Gabriella Mutale is a Research Assistant in the School of Social Sciences.

Career overview

Gabriella completed a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and an MSc in Psychological Research Methods at Nottingham Trent University. In 2016 Gabriella received her PhD in Psychology from Nottingham Trent University.

Gabriella has worked as a research assistant in the School of Social Sciences since 2015. This role has predominately involved the evaluation of various health and social care services.

Research areas

Gabriella is an experimental psychologist interested in applying evolutionary theory to understanding human behaviour. Her PhD thesis examined the perceptual and psychological factors involved in making judgements about bodies.

Gabriella has recently been working using mixed methods to evaluate a range of health and social care services. Research projects Gabriella has worked on include:

  • Evaluating Mental Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Beds with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust
  • Evaluating the Social Care Role within Integrated Care Teams with Nottinghamshire County Council
  • Evaluating Inclusive Services for Older Prisoners with Age UK
  • Evaluating the New Cross and Broomhill Support Teams with Ashfield District Council
