Daniel Corlett

Daniel Corlett is Head Coach for Women's Football, responsible for leading on recruitment, selection, development and deployment of female athletes across all levels of the Women's Football program.  Daniel is also the Sport Pathway Development Officer, responsible for overseeing the delivery of the 10 Intramural Football leagues that take place throughout the academic year and line manages the university's Football Referees.

Daniel Corlett is Head Coach for Women's Football, responsible for leading on recruitment, selection, development and deployment of female athletes across all levels of the Women's Football program. Daniel is also the Sport Pathway Development Officer, responsible for overseeing the delivery of the 10 Intramural Football leagues that take place throughout the academic year and line manages the university's Football Referees.

Since being appointed Head Coach for Women's Football in 2018, Daniel has led the club during its most successful period on pitch, with the 1st team winning two BUCS Tier 1 league titles and a BUCS Trophy, and the 2nd and 3rd teams both recording back to back 2nd place finishes in Tiers 2 and 3 respectively, along with establishing the clubs Sunday team in the Nottinghamshire Girls & Ladies League.  Prior to this Daniel was Assistant Coach - Women's Football (2016-2018), responsible for the Women's 2nd Team, leading them to a Tier 3 league title and promotion to Tier 2, along with a Futsal Tier 2 league title and Midland Conference Cup.

Daniel has held the role of Sport Pathway Development Officer since 2014, overseeing the development of clubs such as Ice Hockey, Wheelchair Basketball and Mixed Hockey alongside his current responsibilities.  Before this Daniel was the Football Co-Ordinator (2012-2014), with a specific focus on the institution of the Intramural Football program he continues to oversee.

Career overview

In a coaching capacity Daniel has previously worked across all levels of the Women's Football Talent Pathway, including posts with Leicester City Regional Talent Centre Under 17s (2014-2016), Derby County Regional Talent Centre Under 17s (2013-2014) and Under 15s (2011-2013) and Arnold Town Under 16s, Under 18s and Reserves (2009-2012), along with Hinckley United Under 18s (2005-2007) in the male side of the game.

Before joining Nottingham Trent University on a full time basis Daniel held the roles of Partnership Manager and School Development Officer at Derby County In The Community (2007-2012), responsible for co-ordinating the deployment of coaching teams delivering sessions in academic and sporting environments across Derbyshire, along with delivering coaching sessions themselves.

Daniel holds UEFA B Licence and Youth Award Football and FA Level 2 Futsal coaching qualifications, as well as being an FA Affiliate Tutor (Level 1 & 2). He has a BA(Honours) History degree from University of Manchester and is currently working towards gaining his Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support (TALS) qualification.

External activity

Daniel is the 1st Team Assistant Manager with Nottingham Forest Women, who play in the Women's National League North (Step 3 of the Women's Football Pyramid). Along with delivering coaching sessions and matchdays, Daniel also works to develop the partnership between the Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham Forest Women to provide our students with opportunities to play high level external football and create pathways for talented local players into Higher Education.  Daniel also regularly delivers coach education courses for The FA, with a focus on Level 1 course targeted towards female coaches from within the Nottinghamshire area.
