Business Leaders Lecture with Polly Harrold and Wendy Whewell
How do SMEs feel about their path to net zero?

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) represent over 99% of all private sector businesses in the UK, with approximately three-quarters being sole traders. SMEs contribute to 43-53% of the UK's business-related greenhouse gas emissions.
Earlier this year, Santander UK conducted a survey of 500 SMEs to identify the challenges they face in becoming more sustainable and the support they require to address these challenges. In this lecture, we will explore the findings of this survey and discuss the barriers and opportunities for SMEs in their sustainability journey.
