In this lecture José Luiz Rossi will draw upon his 40 years of leading major businesses in 20 countries across multiple business sectors, cultures, as well as a rapidly evolving technological landscape. He will highlight how one has to keep learning to successfully navigate through changes in technology, new business and management trends and cultural differences to stay relevant. This lecture will be followed by an open Q&A session.

About the lecturer - José Luiz Rossi

José Luiz Rossi is Managing Director, Experian UK & Ireland. José Luiz joined Experian in May 2014 to be a member of the Operating Committee and to lead Latin America, a region with operations in 6 countries and over 3000 employees. In April 2020, José Luiz was appointed to lead the UK and Ireland in which he has moved from Brazil to the UK.

José Luiz initially developed his career as a consultant in the field of technology applied to business processes. In 1983, he created Result Systems, a consulting company that pioneered the development of information systems based on microcomputer networks, which was acquired by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in 1986.

In 1989 he became a partner at PwC and in 1995 Jose Luiz started the ERP Practice at PW in Brazil, which in 3 years became the largest ERP practice in the Latin American region. In 1999 he was elected for the Policy Committee of PwC in South America and in 2001 he assumed the leadership of the consulting practice of PwC for Central and South America.

After 16 years in PwC of which 13 as a partner, he went to IBM in October 2002 with the acquisition of PwC Consulting, to be responsible for Global Business Services in Latin America. In October 2004 he moved to Madrid where he became the VP and General Manager for GBS in Southwest Europe, an operation of 10 countries in 4 regions with an workforce of 10.000 employees. For 4 years, Jose Luiz was a member of the IBM Performance Team, a group formed by the top 60 executives of the company.

Prior to joining Experian, José Luiz was the CEO of CPM Braxis when he joined in January 2009, the largest Brazilian IT services company at the time. It was acquired by Capgemini in October of 2010. He was responsible for the selling of the company to Capgemini and also for bringing new strategic partners (Caixa and EMC) to be significant shareholders of the company. During his tenure Jose Luiz was a member of Capgemini´s Team One, formed by the top 100 executives of the Group.

José Luiz is 61 years old, married with 3 children, and was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He studied at Richard Taunton College in Southampton, England and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
