About the speaker - Sir Ken Olisa OBE, the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London to King Charles III
Ken is the Founder and Chairman of Restoration Partners, a boutique technology merchant bank. With a career spanning over 40 years, he began at IBM before becoming a senior executive at Wang Laboratories, working across the UK, Belgium, and the USA.
A pioneer in corporate leadership, Ken was the first British-born Black man appointed as a Director of a FTSE 100 company (Reuters). He has served on the Boards of Open Text, Thomson Reuters, Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation, and several AIM-listed companies. Currently, he chairs high-potential technology firms, including Inogesis, Interswitch, and Proxymity.
Beyond business, Ken is dedicated to public service. He has held leadership roles at the NHS, the Postal Services Commission, IPSA, and the Peabody Trust. He founded the Aleto Foundation, serves as President of Thames Reach, Chairman of Shaw Trust, and President of London Youth. Honored with an OBE in 2010, he was later appointed Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London and knighted in 2018. In 2022, he became Chair of BusinessLDN.
