Financial experts join NTU Board of Governors

NTU alumni and financial experts Dr Anino Emuwa and Duke Dayal have joined NTU’s Board of Governors.

Anino has over 25 years’ experience in banking, international management consulting and research. A former corporate banker with Citibank, she is the founder of Avandis Consulting, a strategy and financial advisory firm in France.

She also offers her time to support NTU students as an Alumni Fellow of Nottingham Business School where she completed her Doctorate in Business Administration. She is currently mentoring students on NTU’s Women’s Development Programme and Black Leadership Programme.

Anino has lived in six countries and is bilingual in English and French. She is an advocate for gender diversity in leadership and she received the global award for Women in Tech Ally by WomenTech Network in 2020, and is recognised as one of the 125 people to follow on LinkedIn about Diversity and Inclusion. Founder of 100 Women@Davos, and the African Women CEOs Network, Anino convenes global and regional communities for women in leadership and has been a coach and mentor for Cartier Women’s Initiative and the University of Cambridge Judge Business School’s EnterpriseWOMEN programme. She is also a Cherie Blair Foundation Mentor Alumni.

As an award-winning international speaker on entrepreneurship, emerging technologies, and diversity and inclusion, Anino has been invited to speak at prestigious institutions and conferences including Forbes, Facebook Association of MBAs Business School Leaders Forum, University of Cambridge, London School of Economics and the French National Assembly.

Duke Dayal, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director at Santander UK, joins her on the Board. Duke earned a BA Honours in Accounting and Finance from Nottingham Trent University and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He has served as a member of the Executive Committee on the Board of Trustees for the Institute of International Banking in New York and as a Board member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh.

Duke has over 30 years’ experience in a range of global financial roles across banking, private equity and consumer brands. Before joining Santander UK, he worked for Santander US in Boston as Chief Financial Officer of Santander Holdings (April 2016 to July 2019), and as President and Chief Executive Officer of Santander Bank, N.A. (September 2017 to July 2019).

Prior to joining Santander, Duke was with BNP Paribas for six years, where he served as Chief Financial Officer for BNP Paribas USA Holdings, BancWest and Bank of the West in San Francisco.
