Introduction:

What is a degree apprenticeship?

Funded by the government and an employer, this apprenticeship combines work-based learning and higher education, which leads to both a degree and professional recognition through the award.

Higher and degree apprenticeships at NTU help employers to grow their own talent and nurture the employees who will go on to play a key role in their business. Suitable for both small and large businesses, the degree apprenticeship can be a useful way to help employees develop into management roles.

Course details

You will be completing a BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying and Construction Commercial Management degree, which is outlined below.

Quantity surveyors manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. They are specialised accountants for the construction industry, aiming to minimise costs and enhance value for money, delivering projects to the required quality and on time. A construction manager is responsible for minimising expenses without compromising quality. You will need strong financial skills, and the ability to negotiate and develop relationships with suppliers.

Our accredited course is designed for those who want to be the centre of the management of construction procurement process. If you think logically, enjoy using your own initiative, are interested in financial matters, enjoy dealing with people and want to work in and out of the office, then this is the course for you.
