Digital marketing agencies, Impression and Hallam, recognised for their contribution to graduate retention in the local region

Since 2019, Impression and Hallam have supported the delivery of the annual Digital Marketing Academy (DMA) - the first industry experience programme co-delivered by Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham, in association with local employers.

The DMA was designed to address the high-level digital skills gap identified by Nottingham City Council and supports the Universities for Nottingham initiative, by strengthening university institution links with local employers and supporting graduate retention in the city.

Impression and Hallam have been instrumental in the growth of the DMA, making it a recognised employability learning programme. As leaders in their field, they have shared the latest best practice and industry-recognised accreditations to aid the success of participants. Their high growth allows them to create multiple entry-level roles enabling several DMA students to secure a direct route to graduate employment. Additionally, NTU alumni have returned as representatives from Impression and Hallam to educate future digital marketing specialists through the programme.

The impact these organisations have on the next generation of talent is obvious. From the 2021-22 cohort:

  • 90% of DMA participants were more aware of digital marketing and graduate opportunities in the local area,
  • 8/10 participants felt more employable, and
  • 88% of students felt more confident applying for digital marketing roles.

Collaboration of this nature is testament to the commitment both agencies continue to provide to the civic community, and the sustainable relationships they have built with NTU and UON.

This effort was recognised earlier in the year, when Impression and Hallam were shortlisted for the AGCAS Award for Excellence in Careers and Employability Service Engagement 2022.

Both organisations are currently supporting the latest DMA intake, featuring on-campus panel discussions and workshops.
