About the Centre

The centre will offer high quality co-location for regional entrepreneurs and SMEs who are seeking to benefit from a relationship with the University. Members of the centre will gain access to a comprehensive suite of business support programmes. Those at start up stage will benefit from the centre as the new home for NTUs enterprise support. Together with our enterprise community, we hope to create a collaborative, connected centre that benefits all members to innovate and grow their enterprising businesses.

  • Why should you join us?

Your new home for enterprise and innovation
The centre will provide a new focus for all enterprise support offered by NTU. As a member, your business will be able to benefit from a combination of high-quality facilities and close ties to NTU knowledge and expertise. Our aim is to support you to start and/or grow your business successfully.

    Working with NTU
Since 2016 NTU has worked with over 900 SMEs in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire to start up, create new innovative products and services, and to grow profitably. Some have chosen to work closely with the University and have been looking to co-locate with us.

The new centre will facilitate this opportunity. As a valued member of the DEC community, your business can also access a board range of support programmes based on the knowledge and expertise available within NTU. From start-up to scale up, our support can help your organisation to prosper by exploiting academic research outcomes, creating collaborative projects, accessing student and graduate talent, developing new skills and attending business mentoring sessions and wider enterprise-based events.

    Start-up incubator with the Hive
Our dedicated Hive team offers a flexible and creative working environment to help start-up’s establish their business. We offer mentoring, business plan support, training and networking opportunities for anyone launching a business or social enterprise. Our incubator is open to NTU students, graduates and anyone with a viable idea they want to pursue. Whether you're hoping to go freelance, or build something bigger, we can help.

Be part of the enterprise community
We are only as important as the members that join our centre. By bringing together a community of businesses, we can work with members to lead the discussion on the future needs for enterprise and entrepreneurial innovation in Nottingham. Taking part in events, leading discussions and hosting opportunities for collaboration with NTU and other centre members are just a few of the benefits of surrounding your business with like-minded entrepreneurs.

  • Who is the centre for?

    Students, graduates & local entrepreneurs

Through continued support of the Hive and NTU, the centre will support student entrepreneurship and enterprising graduates to develop their business ideas and get started. Whether you are an entrepreneur who is familiar with NTU or someone who is engaging with us for the first time, we can support you to develop your business plan and start your enterprise as a centre member.

    Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)

The centre will also offer membership packages to small and medium sized business seeking to benefit from a relationship with the University as part of our community to help them innovate and grow. As a key part of our community, we can support your business growth in our new centre and through our mentoring and events programmes as well as our office and desk facilities.
