Job Fairs and Events

Our job fairs and events represent an opportunity for employers to connect with our students and graduates, whilst presenting you with a platform to promote your vacancies, build brand awareness and interact both physically and virtually with your future talent. At NTU, we believe in success for all and value the time and expertise that employers bring to our students’ development, therefore, there is no charge associated with our recruitment events.

2022/23 Job Fairs

Students speaking to employers at job fair

Following the successful return to campus for our most recent Graduate and Placement Job Fair, the below timeline indicates our current plans for the 2022/23 Term One Job Fair series.

The events will take place in-person, across a number of our campuses, simultaneously using our established online system as a platform for students to navigate the fairs and exhibitors.

Our events are open to NTU students and graduates from all courses and disciplines to attend.

On the day, we invite you to explore all the possibilities and start the conversation with future employees from backgrounds you may not have traditionally considered.

Term One

Placement and Graduate Job Fair

Wednesday 19 October 2022, 10:00am-3:00pm

City Campus

Traditionally the largest of our events, the Placement and Graduate Job Fair welcomes local, national and global organisations of all sizes looking to meet prospective industry placement students. Positioned at a key time in your recruitment calendar, this fair is also a great opportunity to target recent and upcoming graduates with your entry-level vacancies.

This event will attract students from all courses, and therefore invites exhibitors from all sectors.

Built Environment Job Fair

Wednesday 26 October 2022, 11:00am-3:00pm

City Campus

The Built Environment Job Fair is designed specifically for you to access students from disciplines including architecture, property, design, and civil engineering, as well as those from other courses with an interest in the sector. Participating in this event serves as an effective way to get your brand in front of students who are eager to find out more about your organisation, and the placement and graduate-level jobs available.

STEM Job Fair

Tuesday 8, Wednesday 9, Thursday 10 November 2022, 11:00am-3:00pm

Clifton Campus

Set over three days, this event gives you flexibility to engage with our student and graduate cohorts in a more intimate environment, with exhibitor stands limited to 25 per day. This fair will give you widespread exposure to diverse talent across Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics courses.

Taking place in the Pavilion Building, you will be located in the heart of the Clifton Campus, alongside the laboratories, teaching facilities and study spaces that relevant students frequent.

Life Sciences and Environment Job Fair

Wednesday 16 November 2022, 11:00am-2:00pm

Brackenhurst Campus

Based at our Brackenhurst Campus, this is a tailored event focused on bringing together industry professionals and students from the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences. Attending the fair will provide you with the platform to promote your opportunities to our cohorts from undergraduate, postgraduate and further education courses, who are eager to enhance their career prospects within these fields.

Term Two

Nottingham Law School Law Fair

Tuesday 24 January 2023, 5:00pm-7:30pm

City Campus

Based at our City Campus, this sector-specific fair is designed to bring together the legal profession and students from the Nottingham Law School. Plus, this event serves as a vital channel to connect with wider NTU cohorts and alumni who can fill your non-legal roles, such as in HR, marketing, technical and IT.

Creative Futures

Wednesday 15 February 2023, 11:00am-3:00pm

City Campus

Creative Futures was established in 2020 using our online platforms to bring the best in local, national and international industry peers, together with NTU talent.

This time the event will be taking over our City Campus, allowing professionals to share their expertise and opportunities with the next generation of creatives in an immersive space.

Graduate and Placement Job Fair

Tuesday 7 March 2023, 11:00am-3:00pm

City Campus

Our final job fair of the academic year will bring together students from across the university and organisations with graduate or placement-level opportunities.

Attending the fair provides the perfect opportunity for organisations to interact in-person with skilled students and graduates who are looking forward to entering the next step of their career journeys.

Online activity

We understand that businesses are becoming more flexible with their working practices and digital engagement processes. With this in mind, there are fantastic engagement opportunities to connect with our talent virtually, allowing you to:

  • Reduce your recruitment costs of untargeted general advertising and remove direct expenses incurred from travelling to physical events.
  • Access a pipeline of qualified students and graduates who meet the needs of your organisation.

Virtual Mock Assessment Centre

Participating in a Virtual Mock Assessment Centre (MAC) gives you the opportunity to run a tailored group exercise, as part of a carousel of other activities. These sessions can either sit within our programme of MAC dates throughout the academic year, or as a standalone event on a date of your choosing.

Webinar Wednesdays

The Webinar Wednesday series brings together industry experts to provide an insight into several areas relating to Employability.

Each Wednesday will focus on a different theme such as personal branding, a specific sector, Labour Market Information, and alumni success stories, with several events taking place across the day.

These sessions allow you to connect with like-minded individuals in the professional world, whilst inspiring recent and upcoming graduates with your expertise, at a key point in their career journeys.

Employer Sessions

Employer Sessions give you the opportunity to showcase your brand, vacancies and application processes in an interactive environment to relevant talent. Presentations can be live or pre-recorded and can include a Q&A, polls and more. You will be supported at every stage of the process, with the Events team on-hand to promote, set-up, test run and facilitate your session.

On-campus activity

There are a number of different ways to raise the profile of your organisation on campus, promote your recruitment opportunities and engage with our cohorts. This is an ideal opportunity to interact and share your company vision, culture and values directly to our talented students.

Employer presentations

Presentations are an ideal way to tell students about available placement and graduate opportunities, and give an insight into your organisation. You can choose to present on any of our campuses. The benefits of presenting to our students include:

  • meeting our students face-to-face and answering their questions
  • increased brand awareness
  • promoting the opportunities available and the skills required
  • increasing application quality by helping students understand your recruitment processes

Pop-up stands

Promote your company with a pop-up stand in high footfall locations across any of our campuses.

Pop-up stands are a great way to interact with students at any time of the year and, unlike careers fairs, you don’t have to compete with other companies for students’ attention.
