Professional accreditation

The Centre for International Law Enforcement has developed an innovative approach to working with organisations to enhance their in-house training.

People working at table

Our aim is to develop meaningful and sustainable learning partnerships with law enforcement organisations by providing university accreditation for courses, research partnerships and opportunities for your staff to progress to further study should they wish to.

We do this by working closely with you to map your current training and identify areas for enhancement. We then support you through the validation process to enable your courses to be aligned to the UK qualifications framework. This means that your staff will be able to obtain NTU qualifications in addition to completing their professional training courses. We’ll provide expert advice and bespoke training for your training teams throughout and benefit from your expertise and experience in shaping our own teaching and research.

Case Study: Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission

NTU is proud to work in partnership with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to reform and enhance its workforce training strategy. Through the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA), trainees undertake their basic training to become Anti-Corruption Cadets and Officers. Our team worked with MACA to map this training and develop two new NTU awards at undergraduate and postgraduate levels – awarded to successful trainees at their passing out parades. These award holders will also be able to use their credits towards obtaining a full MSc award through NTU. In addition to this core programme, NTU has provided over 7 weeks of training for MACA lecturers and is collaborating on joint publications and conferences to disseminate the important work of the MACC. Datuk Seri HJ Azam Bin Baki, the Deputy Chief Commissioner of Operations at MACC said:

“We made history in collaborating with NTU. Your well-established expertise in law enforcement paved the way for newly recruited MACC officers undergoing their training to be accredited with a UK higher education qualification. We would like to thank NTU for helping us to achieve our vision of becoming a world-class anti-corruption organisation”.
