Information for students from CATS College

Meet your NTU representative for CATS College students - find out about entry requirements and much more on this page.

Welcome

Katy Fair

Hello, my name’s Katy and I'm your NTU representative.

Thinking of studying with us when you've finished your course at CATS College? That's great. I love meeting new students and families personally to give advice and guidance so if you'd like to get in touch please do.

And if you want to come to the University to have a look around I'd be happy to give you a tour:

What are the entry requirements for students from Cats College?

You'll be familiar with the UCAS point system I'm sure. I've given some guidance below on our entry requirements - obviously it depends what you're doing at CATS College so I've outlined our requirements from the IB, A level and the CATS University Foundation Programme.

Please note that these entry requirements are guidelines only. If you have questions about your qualification and it is not listed here, please contact us.

English language requirements

A key point to remember is that if you've done IGCSE and A level, we will ask for Maths and English at GCSE. However, if you haven’t done IGCSE we will only ask for English.

You’ll need an IELTS qualification at the appropriate grade or an alternative English language qualification accepted by the University.

Students who do not meet the English language requirements may be required to take a pre-sessional English language (PEAP) course.

We require the following grades:

  • UCAS Tariff points 128 - Pass with minimum of ABB in three subject modules
  • UCAS Tariff points 120 - Pass with minimum of BBB in three subject modules
  • UCAS Tariff points 112 - Pass with minimum of BBC in three subject modules
  • UCAS Tariff points 104 - Pass with minimum of BCC in three subject modules

Where specific subject grades are required at A level, we would expect to see the equivalent grades in relevant modules.

Look up your NTU course first to see how many UCAS Tariff points you'll need.

A level grades are approximately equivalent to the following UCAS Tariff points:

  • A* = 56
  • A = 48
  • B = 40
  • C = 32
  • D = 24

If you need some help with adding up your points you can enter your grades on the UCAS calculator.

We have a long history of accepting IB Diploma graduates to our courses.

This has helped us to develop requirements which offer you the best possible opportunity to access and succeed in your studies.

You'll find all the relevant information on what grades you need on our IB diploma web page.
