Neurodiversity, an umbrella term that includes conditions like ADHD and Autism, is complex and often misunderstood. This course provides an opportunity to explore the intricacies of neurodiversity, helping you gain a clearer understanding.

Through this course, you will deep dive into neurodiversity to explore how differences in brain structure and function influence behaviour and, in turn, impact daily life.

During this course you will explore:

  • the structure and prevalence of disorders under the neurodiversity umbrella
  • the neuroscience of neurodiversity
  • neurodiversity across the lifespan
  • the structural and functional findings in neurodiversity
  • common co-morbidities with neurodiversity

This course will focus on the following key impairments associated with neurodiversity:

  • impact on mental health
  • educational attainment
  • employability
  • sleep
  • driving behaviour
  • inter-personal relationships
  • psychological interventions that can better support
  • neurodiverse individuals
  • lived experience of neurodiversity

Assessment: a poster presentation and a 5-minute oral presentation.

Students who are neurodiverse are welcome to apply.
