Information and entry requirements for students from France

Entry requirements

Your qualificationYou could study

Baccalauréat Général/Technologique

Offers for undergraduate courses are made depending on the entry criteria of your chosen course. These will be stated in UCAS Tariff points.

As a guide we would look for:

  • 136 UCAS Taiff points= 14/20 to 13/20
  • 128= 13.5/20 to 12.5/20
  • 120= 13/20 to 12/20
  • 112= 12.5/20 to 11.5/20
  • 104= 12/20 to 11/20
  • 96= 11.5/20 to 11/20
  • 88= 11/10
  • 80= 10/10

Where A-levels are required in specific subjects we would expect to see those subjects passed with a minimum of:

A = 14/20
B = 13/20
C = 12/20
D = 10/20

*Slightly lower scores may be accepted from students holding the OIB.

Bachelor/Licence/Diplôme d'Ingénieur / Licence Professionnelle / Grade de Licence Professionnelle (when awarded after 2008)
  • 2.i = 12-13.99/20 (mention assez bien)
  • 2.ii = 11-11.99/20 (mention passable)
Diplôme d'Études Approfondies \ Diplôme d'Études Supérieures Specialisées \ Grade de Master \ MagistèreA good grade in the Diplôme d'Études Approfondies \ Diplôme d'Études Supérieures Specialisées \ Grade de Master \ Magistère qualification is required for entry onto our research degrees.

English language requirements

You’ll need an IELTS qualification at the appropriate grade or an alternative English language qualification accepted by the University.

Students who do not meet the English language requirements may be required to take a pre-sessional English language (PEAP) course.
