Integrated Foundation Years

Find information about integrated foundation years which prepare you for a full degree by building study skills and subject knowledge.

What is an Integrated Foundation Year?

An integrated foundation year is a preparatory year of learning before starting a full degree. It is designed to equip you with the study skills and subject knowledge needed to excel in your bachelor’s degree. This pathway ensures you can achieve the same bachelor's degree, even if you don't meet the conditions of your original offer.

How does it work?

You can apply for an Integrated Foundation Degree through UCAS.

If you applied for the full-time version of a course that also offers a foundation pathway and you accept your offer from NTU but do not meet the offer conditions, we guarantee you a place on the foundation year pathway for your chosen degree. No action is required from you; we will automatically consider you for this alternative entry pathway and update your UCAS Hub on results day if needed.

What are the benefits of an Integrated Foundation Year?

  • Skill development: Gain essential study skills and subject knowledge.
  • Smooth transition: Ease into university life with a supportive foundation year.
  • Guaranteed* progression: Secure your place on your chosen degree.

* All integrated foundation degrees at NTU require a minimum 64 -72 UCAS tariff points for entry.
