Role
Antony is a Senior Lecturer working within Construction Management with Course Leadership for On Line MSc Construction Project Management (Distance Learning). He focuses on Construction, Design, Building Services and Sustainability. Antony's special interest is in Heritage and Conservation including retrofit and recording and the use of technology in construction.
Career overview
Antony started out in consultancy for building services with a specialism in lighting design before returning to NTU to complete a BA (Hons) and an MA in The Designed Environment. Antony has worked as a Surveyor and Project Manager for a local authority before moving to an architectural practice leading refurbishment projects and lighting design. A chance meeting led to a position in education initially with the Property Management and Development area and now with Construction Management.
Research areas
Antony's key area of interest is Heritage and Conservation especially recording and interpretation being a member of the Centre for Architecture, Urbanism and Global Heritage. He provides technical support to the centre and was CoI for the Hawara Pyramid Project, lead for the Nottingham Castle Research and has contributed to other projects around the globe. Antony has expertise in LiDAR, photogrammetry, thermology and modelling for survey and record especially in the conservation of buildings and heritage sites. The use of this technology in the area of sustainability through retrofit and repurpose is of special interest.
