David is a lecturer / senior lecturer in civil engineering in the School of Archtiecture and the Built Environment.
David graduated from Nottingham Trent University and went to Black and Veatch, spending a short time in design, but mostly as part of the site management team in waste water.
He has since spent 8 years working for a company manufacturing constructions adhesives; entailing design of structural and non-structural fixings, as well as serving on standardisation committees.
David has been involved in research for International Building Codes (IBCs) for reinforced concrete, focused on areas connected with post-installed anchors, such as the effects of fracture energy on anchors loaded in shear, and effects on concrete strength by aggregate origin.
