Role
Senior Lecturer in Fashion Design with specialist knowledge of Pattern Cutting. Karen is a member of NTU’s Technical Textiles Research group and interested in the generation of innovative shapes and how these are applied to the body. She is inspired by other creative disciples and how these can be further developed into 3D forms.
I specialise in 2D – 3D translation techniques, employing innovative approaches to both flat and draping methods.
Karen teaches on the 100 credit 1st year Module FASH10104 – Design Process, Concept form and Image, being the module and project leader for the 1st 15 weeks.
Duties include:

- Personal tutor/PATs tutor
- Assessment – formative & summative feedback
Karen is also tutor on the 3rd year FASH 30103 / 30104 in 2nd half year

Karen is also involved with The organisation of the final year fashion show and Fashion Product exhibition.

- Work included – designing / pattern cutter / grading for design / manufacturing companies
