Role

Duncan is third year module leader in BA (Hons) Design for Stage and Screen (Design for Film and Television). Supporting and guiding final year students to achieve their best, in preparation for industry.

Career overview

Duncan has production designed and Art directed children’s television programmes for CBeebies including Teletubbies (1998) and In The Night Garden (2006); television dramas including Cutting It (BBC: 2002-5), The Forsyte Saga (Granada Television: 2002-03); The Royal (ITV: dates) Shameless (Channel 4: 2004-13); Dalziel and Pascoe (BBC1: 1996,97,98); and Prey (ITV: 2014); and, films including Liam (2000); Sunday (2002); John Lennon (2000); and Al’s Lads (2002).

Research areas

Duncan is currently looking into areas of research to develop. An Initial idea is ‘Life in a window’, where Duncan will be looking into character analysis from objects, ornaments and dressing decorated in a window.

External activity

Duncan continues to maintain his professional/industrial practice through short term projects (Banished, Dark Angel and Emmerdale), Keeping his knowledge current for teaching and for his CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
