Role

Ferdi works with a team to run the Artstore online booking system where I loan out photographic equipment to students and to staff for their workshop. I also help students when they are producing work and need some technical assistance. I also carry out general technical duties in the photography recourse area.

Career overview

After completing my undergraduate degree in Photographic Studies, I worked as a photography technician at Rolleston College in Burton where I managed the darkrooms and studios. I also helped the students using the computer suite and ran the art shop.

I worked at the Alber Art Gallery in Derby where I helped run the gallery space and maintain the gallery and darkrooms. I worked at Derby Community Arts as a photography worker. I helped build the darkroom and maintained the area.

I also taught beginners photography at DCA. I ran evening classes offsite to the general public.

Research areas

Since working at NTU, I have completed my postgraduate degree in Photography and looked at ‘Abandoned’ Photography Looking at ”fly tipping” in streets and how this is seen has anti-social yet also a form of recycling.
