Role

I am module leader for FMBR30004 Strategic and Creative solutions on Fashion Marketing and Branding and I use my experience as a researcher to guide final year students through their academic research projects. Drawing on my work and practice in Web3 and with new and emerging technologies, I challenge students to innovate through business plans and creative projects which form a major part of their summative assessment on Fashion Marketing and Branding.

I contribute to the wider department, and the Nottingham School of Art & Design as a guest lecturer, delivering content and teaching on Web3 and new and emerging technologies.

In addition to teaching on Fashion Marketing and Branding, I am founder and organiser of NTU NXT - a group of staff and students exploring new and emerging technologies and ideas at the intersection between AI, Blockchain and Immersive Experiences. I am committed to my creative practice as an NFT artist, and writer/performer working with immersive technologies.

I developed and wrote a new module for the Nottingham School of Art & Design, Web3 and Creative Autonomy, enabling second year students the opportunity to engage in practices at the forefront of digital technology, creativity and innovation.

Career overview

Following a Theatre Design undergraduate degree, I started my career producing theatre and live events in care homes, conference centres and traditional cultural venues. In the early days of YouTube, I founded a digital production agency producing web-based video and content for live experience. I produced video and events at/for the Tate Britain, BAFTA, The Battersea Arts Centre, Royal College of Art and University of the Arts London.

My formative career seeded my interest in new and emerging technologies and their intersection with culture and communication, which led me to an MA in Enterprise and Management for the Creative Arts and a Fulbright Fellowship and PhD program at the Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University.

I have taught in Media and Communication Schools, Business Schools and the Nottingham School of Art & Design, and hold a distinct and unique perspective on the business of creativity, digital communication and innovation.

As a practice based academic and lecturer I am committed to decentring expectations of education and the knowledge economy and exploring new and emerging technologies through corporeal and embodied processes. I value, and aim to create learning experiences that are personal, fun, and challenging, and am engaged in collaborative projects with colleagues from the Nottingham School of Art & Design and beyond.
