Role

Pinky is the Principal Lecturer for the Master Courses within the Fashion, Management, Marketing and Communication Department within the Nottingham School of Art and Design. Specialising within marketing and branding, Pinky is not only a dedicated educator but also a passionate advocate for change and inclusivity in higher education. Her commitment to fostering a forward-thinking curriculum drives her pedagogical research. She actively champions Student Voice, striving to make a profound difference in the educational landscape by empowering students and embracing diversity.

Career overview

Prior to joining Higher Education, Pinky has over 10 years design experience within the creative sector: including Head Designer of an eyewear design company which developed collections for brands including Specsavers, Pretty Green and Irregular Choice.

Pinky moved into higher education starting at DMU as a Lecturer of Design in the Creative Industries, focusing on Postgraduate courses specialising in Design Management, Digital Design and Fashion Management.

Pinky was part of Freedom to Achieve Project at De Montfort University, An institutional project formed to make a positive change in actively addressing the attainment gap and implementing  School or Art & Design change.

Research areas
