Rose is a senior lecturer at Nottingham Trent University. She primarily teaches postgraduate fashion courses, including MA International Fashion Management, MA Fashion Communications, MA Fashion Marketing and MA Luxury Fashion Brand Management.
Career overview
Rose graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA in Fashion Management, MA in Culture, Style and Fashion and received a Vice Chancellor Scholarship to complete her PhD, graduating in 2024. Her PhD, titled 'The Emotional Durability of Fast Fashion: Male and Female Perspectives', examined the workings of the fashion trend system in the context of sustainability, and the impacts of trends on young consumers.
Research areas
Rose’s area of expertise focuses on consumer behaviour in relation to fast fashion and sustainability.
Current active research projects include: Reducing socioeconomic barriers to professional development: Investigating the student wardrobe as a catalyst for empowerment. A comparative study between Nottingham Trent University (UK) and San Jose State University (California).
This is a collaborative project between Nottingham Trent University, UK and San José State University, California. Both Universities offer free professional student wardrobes. Currently, no academic research exists regarding professional student wardrobes globally. This research aims to fill this gap and explore the impact of accessible professional attire.
