Senior Lecturer in EFL / TESOL and Programme leader for Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes (PEAP)

Martin Seviour is a Senior Lecturer in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Programme leader for Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes (PEAP). He also teaches in-sessional English support classes in the Nottingham Business School and contributes to modules on the MA ELT programme at NTU.

Martin has worked in a variety of different countries including Sierra Leone, Mongolia, Finland, China and Uzbekistan as an EFL and EAP teacher, teacher trainer and materials designer. After a long career with the British Council including 10 years in Uzbekistan where he was Deputy Director of the Tashkent office, Martin joined Westminster University as Head of English and Professional Development at Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT). In this role he had wide ranging responsibilities for developing EAP provision, training and mentoring staff and improving quality assurance throughout the University. From Tashkent he moved with his family to Nottingham Trent University in 2009.

Martin has authored study skills textbooks for university students in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan and is a member of the British Association for Lecturers in EAP (BALEAP).
