Ian’s role as Course Tutor on the BA International Business involves overseeing the first year of the course, and includes planning and facilitating induction activities, In particlaur his role focusses on preparing the outgoing Dual Award students, and communicating and coordinating with NTU’s partner institutions (KEDGE Business School, Marseilles; University of Valencia; and EBS Universitat für Wirtschaft und Recht, Frankfurt). In his role as a personal tutor at NTU for BAIB Level 1 students he aims to develop supportive and enabling relationships with students in a way that encourages independent learning.
Prior to entering lecturing, Ian worked in management roles in a number of hospitality business within the UK and in Europe.
Ian completed an MRes in Sport Science in 2010, and carried out research into the effects of an inspiratory muscle warm-up on cycling time trial performance. He is currently undertaking research for his PhD into creating a typology of day cycle tourists: using the Peak District National Park as a case study.
