Role

Dr Conghui (Jocelyn) Chen is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Nottingham Business School. Jocelyn teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate modules including Research Projects (Acc and Fin), Global Financial Markets, and Corporate Finance. She also supervises undergraduate research projects and postgraduate business consultancy projects.

Career overview

Jocelyn was awarded her doctoral degree in Finance and Risk from the University of Nottingham and Msc in Banking and Finance from Loughborough University. Prior to NTU, she worked for University of Northampton as a Senior Lecturer in Banking and Finance. She developed and taught several courses on all levels, from undergraduate to postgraduate and MBA, in the area of banking and finance for 10 years. She was the deputy programme leader of International Banking and Finance and developed the new Finance pathway of BA Business Management as pathway leader.

Research areas

Jocelyn’s research interests focus on Investor sentiment, sustainable finance, cryptocurrencies, bank regulation and risk management, household finance.

External activity

Jocelyn has been involved in organising several conferences with special issue opportunities of Emerging Market Finance and Trade.

Jocelyn is an ad-hoc referee for a number of international journals including International Review of Financial Analysis, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, International Review of Economics and Finance, and Financial Research Letters.

She is a visiting scholar of Soochow Business School at Soochow University in China.
