Role

Melanie Janse van Rensburg is a Lecturer and Academic Mentor at Nottingham Business School, at Nottingham Trent University. She lectures on the following programmes: BA in Accounting and Finance, the Forensic Accounting and Assurance and Taxation modules on the BA in Business Management (with Accounting and Finance) Degree, along with the the Accounting and Finance for Managers, Corporate Financial Analysis, Personal and Academic Development and Developing Professional Impact modules.

Career overview

Melanie has been lecturing at NTU since 2019 and prior to that, lectured and authored for BPP Professional Education; specialising in Financial Reporting and Audit and Assurance.  Melanie trained postgraduate student accountants to achieve chartered status across AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW and ICAS professional bodies. Before becoming a lecturer, she enjoyed being an auditor for Ernst & Young in London, UK and Deloitte in South Africa, specialising in Industrial and Manufacturing clients ranging from small sole traders to large, multinational, listed companies.

In addition to her accounting qualifications, she holds a “Teaching English as a Foreign Language” (TEFL) qualification and is involved with a charity-based Language School in Loughborough.
