Lecturer in Quantitative Methods

Michael is a Principal Lecturer in Department of Economics and Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Business course.

His role embraces the full range of academic activities including teaching, research and administration. He teaches quantitative methods and research methods on undergraduate courses as well on the Business School's Master of Business Administration (online MBA) and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programmes.

Michael is an active researcher, specialising in NHS management, sustainable development, and the use of research evidence in policy and decision-making. He is a member of the Business School's Public Policy and Management Research Group.

Career overview

Michael joined Nottingham Business School in 2014. Prior to that he worked in research and management roles in other local universities and in NHS organisations.

Michael specialises in the following areas of research:

  • the use of research in public sector strategy, policy and decision making
  • evaluation of research and innovation and its impact in public sector settings
  • economic and social benefits of research and knowledge transfer
  • mixed methods evaluation and research.
