Role
Rachel is a Senior Lecturer in the Accounting and Finance Department.
Rachel is responsible for all UK undergraduate Nottingham Business School students currently out on their placement year (between their second and final year). She coordinates the staff who support these students during their year inindustry, as well as managing whole cohort events for these students.
Rachel has experience of teaching on undergraduate, post-graduate and professional level courses in the field of accounting and management. Currently she is module leader for the accounting stream of Professional and Academic Development at level 4.
Rachel has a keen interest in pedagogical issues and has presented work at a number of conferences in this area.
Prior to joining academia, Rachel worked for KPMG for a number of years.
Career overview
Prior to working at Nottingham Trent University, Rachel worked at KPMG as an auditor, specialising in the Public Sector. She is qualified as a CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) accountant.
Research areas
Rachel has a keen interest in pedagogical issues including attendance, performance, assessment, and engagement. She is currently undertaking research investigating student attendance and performance in an undergraduate management accounting module.
