Role

Adam is a VLE Manager, working within the Flex team in Centre for Academic Development & Quality (CADQ). He is responsible for overseeing the operational management and evolution of NOW, NTU’s Virtual Learning Environment, ensuring that it meets the needs of its users. This includes leading the teams that provide training and support, and working with users of the platform across NTU, and those that provide technical assistance and product development. Adam also manages the annual platform plan of projects that ensure that NOW continues to improve and evolve as needed.

Career overview

Adam has worked in the Further and Higher Education sectors for over 20 years since completing his apprenticeship at West Notts College many years ago. He has held similar roles across 4 institutions leading on the use and enablement of digital learning technologies, predominantly Virtual Learning Environments. This ranges from providing at arm support to students and academic staff, to leading cross-institution projects to ensure that the technologies in place meet the requirements of the institution and its users.

The roles Adam has held have allowed him to influence many people by enhancing their practice through effective use of digital learning technologies, both internally and externally as Adam frequently takes the opportunity to showcase his work at events such as Digifest, Bett, Vendor conferences and in regional groups and forums.
