Role
Anita is an Educational Developer within the Centre for Academic Development and Quality (CADQ). She works collaboratively with academic colleagues to explore and adopt innovative, inclusive and evidence-based learning and teaching practices, supporting excellent learning opportunities and outcomes for all students.
Anita delivers workshops to colleagues on embedding the active collaborative learning pedagogies SCALE-UP and Team Based Learning into their practice. Anita is the Co-chair of the TILT Practice and scholarship group Active Learn at NTU and supports the 25-29 Access and Participation Plan ACL@NTU project, leading on the academic workstream.
Career overview
Anita has a BSc (Hons) degree in Textile Design and a PGCE in Secondary Education from NTU, she is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Beginning her NTU career in 2016 as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Art and Design where she led on the implementation of the SCALE-UP approach on the Fashion Management course, Anita is now an Educational Developer within the Centre for Academic Development and Quality (CADQ). In this role she applies her knowledge of educational theory and practice developed not only through her six years as an academic but honed during her ten years spent teaching in Nottingham City Secondary education, Alternative provision and Further education environments responsively developing inclusive learning, teaching and assessment activities. Anita has expanded her knowledge and experiences of active collaborative learning more recently through supporting NTU colleagues during the Team Based Learning pilot project in 22-24, the evaluated findings of which she has disseminated internally and externally to NTU nationally and internationally
She believes in working holistically with students to encourage active learning in a supported and inclusive environment. Her experiences as a teacher and academic have led to her passion for social mobility and Success for All.
