Career overview

Originally from Ireland and on completion of her undergrad degree, Fiona moved to London where she undertook an MA in film production and pursued a career in film. Her first job was as a researcher at a documentary production company, before moving into feature film production and VFX production where she worked on films such as Never Let Me Go, Last Chance Harvey, Wrath of the Titans and Gravity. Fiona was always keen on working in a more creative role, and having drawn her whole life, was always attracted to animation. Fiona undertook an MA in Character Animation at Central Saint Martin’s and then worked freelance as a 2D animator on a wide variety of projects, including the BBC’s animated retelling of lost Dr Who episodes. While freelancing she became interested in the area of learning design as it would be a good way of combining her skills and learning new skills, in a way that would benefit people more widely.
