Kerry-Ann Rawson

Role

Kerry-Ann is the Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Childhood suite of degrees and is responsible for course management and administration, academic leadership, quality assurance and enhancement, student induction and support, recruitment, and admissions. Additionally, Kerry-Ann is a Year 1 Lead and teaches and leads modules across these courses as well as being a Personal and Academic Tutor and a dissertation supervisor for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Kerry-Ann leads the Foundation of Academic Study and Academic and Professional Focus module and the Children and Society course-specific modules. Additionally, Kerry-Ann supports the teaching of Supportive Environments for Children and Communities and Research Dissertation.

Career overview

Kerry-Ann completed an undergraduate degree in Childhood Studies, PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education and an MA in Education (Higher Education) at Nottingham Trent University.

After completing her PGCE: PCE, Kerry-Ann worked in a Further Education College for 12 years teaching CACHE and BTEC Childcare courses at levels 1, 2 and 3 as well as being the Course Leader for the Foundation Degree in Children’s and Young People’s Services.

Since joining NTU in 2017 she has completed her PGCHE, has become a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has recently applied to study for her PhD.
