Role

Annabel is a senior lecturer and teaches Advanced Commercial Property and Research, Writing and Drafting on the Legal Practice Course. She is the module leader for Drafting and for the Advanced Commercial Property elective on the LPC. In addition, Annabel teaches on the Land Law module on the LLB. She has also previously taught the Path to Professional Practice module on the LLB and Land Law on the Graduate Diploma in Law and also Property, Conduct, Accounts, Advocacy and Interviewing skills on the LPC.

Annabel is personal tutor to LLB students (and has also supported LPC students in the past).

Annabel is also a supervising tutor for LLB placement students.

Annabel is interested in LPC LLM / LLB / GDL research projects – covering property, planning and environmental issues; issues relating to legal practice.

Career overview

Annabel spent five years practising as a solicitor in commercial property / real estate. She trained at Irwin Mitchell Solicitors where she worked for a number of years before spending 18 months working as an in-house solicitor for a public transport organisation until she joined Nottingham Law School.

Research areas

Annabel’s research interests are in Property Law, liability relating to contaminated land and in Legal Education, in particular, written legal skills.

External activity

Annabel is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is also a member of the Nottinghamshire Law Society. Annabel is currently an external examiner at the University of Wolverhampton for the LPC.
