Role

Resource Acquisition and Supply Team Manager: Major responsibilities include the acquisition, supply and development of the University library's information resources, to meet the teaching, learning and research needs of University staff and students. Role encompasses:

  • acquisition of all library stock
  • oversight of collections budgets
  • subscriptions and licence management for all serials, databases and electronic resources
  • interlibrary Lending
  • digitisation of core reading materials
  • membership of the Library Management Team.

Career overview

Helen has been working in the library and information profession since 1987. Before joining NTU in 1992, Helen held roles at the British Library Document Supply Centre and Loughborough University. Since joining NTU Helen has worked in a number of roles including Collection Development Manager; Acting Deputy University Librarian – Information Resources, and Resource Discovery Team Manager. She has been actively involved in major developments and projects such as the development of the Institutional Repository; Library Building projects and stock moves at both the City and Clifton Sites; the development of the LLR Mentoring Scheme; Resource Lists Management; Patron Driven Acquisition; implementation and development of new digitisation software; selection and implementation of Library Management Systems and the development of a Balanced Scorecard approach for the collection, analysis and presentation of core management information data.
