Dr Ellie Nesbitt is a Lecturer in Sport Management. Ellie is the course leader for the Sport Science and Management degree pathway and module leads on a second year module (Strategic Management & Economic Analysis) and a final year module (Economics and Finance in the Sport and Leisure Industry).  She also supervises final year dissertation projects in a number of sport management themes.

Career overview

Dr Ellie Nesbitt joined NTU in September 2020. In 2022, Ellie was awarded her PhD from Sheffield Hallam University titled: Professionalisation and competitive balance in English men's elite rugby union 1995-2021. She also holds and BSC (Hons) in Sport Business Management as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.

Prior to  NTU Ellie held positions at Sheffield Hallam University as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and the Football Association as a grassroots delivery coordinator. Alongside her current academic career, Ellie also regularly manages sporting events in collaboration with a local rugby club.
