Career overview

Sarah studied BSc Archaeological Sciences at the University of Bradford, followed by MA Principles of Conservation and MSc Conservation for Archaeology and Museums at UCL. She spent 3 years at the Bodleian Library, University of Oxford, where in addition to conducting scientific research into the Bodleian Manuscript Collections, she was Co-ordinator of the AHRC/EPSRC funded BookNET Research Cluster. The Cluster brought together Curators, Conservators and Heritage Science professionals from diverse backgrounds in order to discuss how best to study books as material objects. She edited a volume of papers based on the discussions, entitled The Technological Study of Books and Manuscripts as Artefacts: Research Questions and Analytical Solutions.
