Role

Craig is a leadership and well-being champion who focusses on maximising the potential of others.

He is a Lecturer in Professional Policing, particularly focusing on Criminal Justice, Front Line Policing and Problem Solving/decision making/Crime Prevention at undergraduate level. He is also Course leader for the MSc International Law Enforcement and within that course, leads the Leadership in Law Enforcement module.

Career overview

Craig joined NTU in July 2021, he teaches and manages across a suite of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Policing & International Law Enforcement.

Craig is a former senior police officer who joined the West Midlands Police in 1995 following a 6 years career in the Royal Air Force.

In 2001 he transferred to Nottinghamshire Police where as a Sergeant he led front line policing, public order policing and surveillance operations.

As an Inspector he commanded an area of Nottingham, managed the initial response to critical and major incidents and provided public order command in Nottingham riots in 2011, the G8 summit of 2013 and other critical public order events.

As a T/Chief Inspector he managed the Criminal Justice portfolio for the National Police Chief’s Council. Craig is a leadership and well-being champion who focusses on maximising the potential of others

Craig spent the final 4 years of his policing career leading teams across Nottingham City that responded to the urgent critical demands of the public, in addition to mentoring and coaching officers to maximise their potential, overseeing the city licensing team, commanding public order events (football, demonstrations, protests) and championing the well-being agenda.
