Role

Jens Roeser’s scientific interests embrace theoretical models of language comprehension and production and the acquisition of language. Methodologically Jens is interested in writing processes and eye-tracking in experimental setups, and Bayesian data modelling. Current projects include the comparison of language production in writing and speech, and the scope of advance planning in language production using advanced statistical methods. In particular, Jens' research involves statistical modelling of the mental generation of syntactic structure in language production.

Students and non-students that are interested in getting involved in psycholinguistic research in the context of the Volunteer Research Apprenticeship can get in touch via email for information.

For students and non-students that are interested in conducting PhD research with Jens, please email an academic CV and a brief summary of your research interests to jens.roeser@ntu.ac.uk. PhD projects can focus on various areas of psycholinguistics and dyslexia research. Projects can intend to address research questions such as

- How can we detect individuals with writing difficulty before they learn to write?
- How does dyslexia affect an individuals ability to formulate short messages?
- How does dyslexia affect the unfolding process of writing short sentences?
