Career overview

Louise completed her PhD from the University of St Andrews in 2012. She worked as a Lecturer at the University of Lincoln from 2013 before joining Nottingham Trent University in 2020.

Research areas

Louise's research focusses on individual differences in visual perception, using both behavioural and electrophysiological methods. Her research involves investigating individual differences in visual perception, in particular visual discomfort. She has been developing an interest in migraine research, and more recently she has been investigating experiences when using virtual reality displays.

Some research interests include:

- understanding differences in visual perception in those with migraine

- modelling how the visual brain processes images

- investigating head movements and discomfort from stimuli in virtual reality headsets
