Career overview
Martyn served as a Prison Officer and Police Officer before joining the National Probation Service. He spent ten years working as a qualified Probation Officer working in a variety of field teams including a period in West Yorkshire’s specialist High Risk Public Protection Offender Management Unit. He was later a Senior Probation Officer in South Yorkshire’s Group Programmes Division overseeing the delivery of National Offender Management Service accrediting programmes, including the Sex Offender Treatment Programme. Martyn has previously lectured in psychology, forensic psychology and criminology and also worked as an associate lecturer for trainee probation officers undertaking the Professional Qualification in Probation (PQiP).
