Susan Hodkin is a Senior lecturer and a module leader for four modules across the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship, BA Social Work Degree and the Practice Educator module on the CPD MA course.

She is interested in work-like assessments and learning. Her primary focus is on teaching on student led and collaborative learning, with a focus on discussion and group activities to facilitate education.

Career overview

Prior to commencing her role at NTU in 2022, Susan was a social worker for 8 years, predominately in adult mental health services. She worked as a practice educator supporting students on placement for several years. Prior to this, she worked as an Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate. Susan has keen interest in relationship based social work practice and research.
