Career overview

As a Registered Nurse, Nicola’s passion for primary and social care is evident from her previous work experience and the initiatives she has led to support workforce development and integration between health and social care. Her advocacy for those working in primary and social care sector shows her concern for their well-being and professional growth. Her involvement as a member of the Health Foundation’s Q Community reflects her interest in quality improvement in healthcare, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes and practice. She was also awarded the title of Queen’s Nurse in 2020 and supports the East Midlands Network of Queen’s Nurses as deputy chair.


Nicola is a Certified Everything DiSC® Practitioner and uses her knowledge and skills to promote effective communication and interpersonal relationships, which are essential in the workplace.


In addition to her role at NTU, Nicola works clinically at Beaumond House Hospice, where she also supports with quality improvement work and has recently become a Trustee of the charity. Nicola also is a co-opted board member at Nottingham City GP Alliance, and Company Director at Enono.
