Role
Sarah Askin is a lecturer in Social Work, and course leader for the BA(Hons) Social Work course at NTU.
Sarah lectures on undergraduate and postgraduate Social Work courses, including the Preparing for Professional Practice module in the BA course, and Law and Social Policy on the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship. In addition to teaching on the professionally accredited Social Work courses, Sarah also teaches on the FdA Working with Children, Young People and Families.
Career overview
Before joining NTU as a lecturer in February 2020, Sarah worked as a Social Worker, and Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) in Nottingham. Sarah is still a registered Social Worker, and her practice interests relate to adult learning disability and mental health.
Research areas
Sarah’s research interests relate to interprofessional learning in social work education and internationalisation in social work courses.
External activity
Sarah is an External Examiner for the MA Social Work course at Teesside University.
