Business Lab
Sharpen your skills in a dynamic, real-time trading environment — perfect for launching a career in finance or the investment industry.
Overview
The business lab includes:
- 25 double-screen workstations
- Bloomberg Terminal software
- live financial data, from across the global markets
- flat-screen TVs, to keep you updated on business developments worldwide.
The dedicated Business Lab in Nottingham Business School (NBS) includes finance industry standard software, Bloomberg Professional Services. The facility is used primarily by economics and finance students on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, but is open to all NBS students.
Students enjoy the active analysis using near-time or real-time data that the software facilitates, improving students’ data analysis and digital literacy skills. Assignments also provide students with opportunities to use Bloomberg in tasks that reflect the type of data analysis expected of them in future careers.
Benefits of the Business Lab include the practical experience you gain from being able to use industry technology, create stock portfolios, monitor their performance and use near live reporting to make quick fire, informed decisions.
The facility is located on Level 0 of the Newton building, and it’s open to all of our NBS students.
