What made you choose to study your postgraduate degree at NTU?

“After my Bachelors degree, I wanted to achieve certain objectives. These included gaining a deeper understanding of civil engineering, which I found interesting, from a well-reputed institution. I also wanted to be better qualified for career prospects in civil engineering. With great academic staff and an excellent reputation in the industry, Nottingham Trent University was the definite choice for me.”

What do you think about the facilities available to you?

“NTU has provided me with high-quality lectures and amazing facilities, and I have a great social life here. The University is great at integrating every student into university life. I wouldn't change anything.”

“What matters most is that you enjoy the environment that you’re in. The campus has everything you need, including cafes, PC areas, and of course the Boots Library.”

As an international student, what do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?

“I’d highly recommend studying in the UK, especially in Nottingham where you will most definitely be welcome. I like the people and the energy here. Nottingham is a cosmopolitan and a very tolerant city, with people from all over the world.”

In a nutshell, why would you recommend your course / NTU to someone looking to study MSc Civil Engineering?

“The most important thing to consider is whether this course covers the areas you are interested in. If you would like to improve your knowledge in the civil engineering field and become a successful engineer, go for Nottingham Trent University, you won't regret it! It will not be easy, it will be challenging but worth it. You will never forget the experience.”

What advice would you give to international students looking to study at NTU?

“Do not be shy to express your ideas at NTU. The opportunity to have an experienced tutor enabled me to develop my idea and thoughts. I had a small idea about energy consumption and through the great conversations with my tutor, I was able to expand it. I valued our conversations and advice as it helped me to get funding to work on my idea. I am so grateful for the opportunity that NTU has given me.”

What advantages do you think having a postgraduate qualification will give you in regards to employment after graduation?

“The skills I have attained on this course will strengthen my CV and help me stand out amongst those who haven’t obtained a postgraduate qualification. I have acquiring knowledge at a higher level than what I studied during my Bachelors degree, and have developed the necessary skills related to the civil engineering industry.”
