What do you enjoy most about your course at NTU?

“I enjoy the course structure most. NTU provides lectures on campus and external visits, even outside the UK. I gained practical and local experience, and broadened my horizons.”

What made you choose to study your postgraduate degree at NTU?

“I chose to study my postgraduate degree at NTU for two reasons. Firstly, the course is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), an international professional body. Secondly, the course includes an internship programme. All this made me feel confident that this course would help me reinforce my building surveying knowledge and gain practical experience.”

What do you think about the course staff?

“As an international student, I am so pleased that the lecturers always provide professional guidance on my academic learning, and are very helpful in sharing their culture. Knowing more about the local culture and living habits helped me understand the UK society and thus enrich my university experience.”

What do you think about the facilities available to you?

“NTU has a wide range of lecture theatres, seminar rooms and workshops. It allows staff to deliver different teaching methods, and enhances the interaction between lecturers and students.”

As an international student, what do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?

“With the help of NTU’s accommodation team, I managed to get a student room in the city, which was very conveniently located. I could reach the City Campus facilities and the city centre in minutes.”

In a nutshell, why would you recommend your course / NTU to someone looking to study MSc Building Surveying?

“For those who wish to study at a high-ranking, multi-cultural university with experienced, highly-qualified lecturers, I would recommend NTU.”

What advantages do you think having a postgraduate qualification will give you in regards to employment after graduation?

“Having a postgraduate qualification signifies an advancement in my professional career development. It not only enriches my knowledge but also demonstrates my willingness to pursue life-long learning.”

How did you find out about NTU before you applied?

“Having reviewed the university rankings in the UK and the list of courses recognised by the RICS, I shortlisted some universities. Then, I sought advice from an education agent, the Hong Kong Education Web Ltd., and NTU’s representative in Hong Kong. Following that, I decided to apply for my postgraduate course at NTU.”

How did you feel when you won an international scholarship?

“It was a great honour winning the scholarship. It definitely gave me encouragement and support, with some additional money. I purchased books and materials that my lecturers recommended. It benefited my studying in other ways as well.”
