Thesis Title: Weaving experience: the senses and embodied knowledge

Alice is a PhD student in the School of Art & Design. Alice's thesis is entitled Weaving experience: the senses and embodied knowledge. This project explores the nature of sensory experience and its role in knowledge making, with a specific focus on hand-weaving practice in the UK. The research will ask how bodily action and experience create specific ways of knowing, and how ethnography can be conducted in order to account for the senses.
