More about Lindsey

What made you choose to study at NTU?
"One of the main reasons I choose to study here was the location of the campus. It is right in the middle of the city with a ten minute walk into the city centre."

What do you enjoy most about your course?
"I like the amount of freedom we get with our work and the vast amount of facilities we can use here such as the colour darkroom, which very few universities have now. The photo store is great as it allows you to borrow equipment such as film cameras for free. The Art Shop in the Bonington building is very convenient and the £100 we were given on our smartcards is an added bonus!"

Has the course included any live projects or briefs?
"The course organised a trip to New York in February 2014. We were set a brief by one of the Nottingham papers which was really fun and made you think outside of the box whilst capturing the Big Apple."

Has the course included any industry competitions?
"We constantly receive emails regarding photography competitions and other things that we may find helpful."

Has the course included any speakers from industry?
"Every week a guest lecturer visits and talks to us about their work. My favourite so far has been Mark Neville who has made some really interesting social documentary work."

What do you think of the course staff?
"Everyone is very friendly and helpful. You are able to meet up with any of the photography staff if you want someone else's opinion on your work or are struggling with something in particular. The technicians in the photo store are always willing to help with any equipment issues."

Have you completed any work placements during your studies?
"I recently participated in a week's work experience run by the Boots Graduate Scheme. I work for an events company called 'I'm Not from London' and helped to create two videos. This experience improved my team work skills and I learnt what it was like to work in an office environment."
