More about Rebecca
Rebecca graduated from our BA (Hons) Fashion Knitwear Design and Knitted Textiles course in 2014. She was selected to showcase her final year work at Graduate Fashion Week 2014 in London, and was named the winner of the Stuart Peters Visionary Knitwear Award.
What made you choose to study at NTU?
"Having looked at lots of different universities, I chose the Fashion Knitwear Design and Knitted Textiles course at NTU because it was such a specific knitwear degree. The resources available were very impressive and the degree was very focused. I came along to an open day and was very impressed with the amount of machinery that was available."
What did you enjoy most about Fashion Knitwear and Knitted Textile Design at NTU?
"I've enjoyed the variety of techniques that we have been taught, from pattern-cutting, hand-knitting, machine-knitting and all over designing.
"The placement year I spent in America at DKNY, Rebecca Taylor and Ralsey also opened lots of doors into the industry, and helped me to grow as a person and as a designer."
What do you think about the course staff?
"I couldn't have carried out my final year without the overwhelming support from the tutors and staff. Support was always available and advice was given regularly. The overall support was undeniably amazing!"
Why would you recommend the Fashion Knitwear Design and Knitted Textiles course?
"If you are wanting to specifically study knitwear design then the Fashion Knitwear Design course at NTU has all the facilities and resources you need to take your designs to an innovative level."
